ISA Server 2006

Convergent Computing has been involved in the beta development, testing, and support for the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) server product since the first beta of the ISA/2000 back in the late 1990's. While ISA/2000 as a product failed to meet all of the expectations that organizations had for a secured firewall product, ISA 2004 and then finally ISA/2006 has completely turned perceptions around as ISA/2006 provides security far beyond perimeter security functionality (such as reverse proxy for Outlook Web Access, secured site-to-site VPN, Active Directory integrated security, and L2TP-VPN security to Windows).

CCO's senior consultant, Michael Noel, took his expertise one step further and wrote a best selling book on the technology. The book, "ISA Server 2006 Unleashed" is another Sams/Que Publishing book written by CCO's consultants. This book covers best practices, tips, and lessons learned in architecting and implementing ISA/2006 in an enterprise environment.

Services CCO Provides around ISA:

  • Designing and planning the number of ISA servers that should be placed in the environment (for load balancing and fault tolerance)
  • Server scalability and sizing
  • ISA Server implementation (including enterprise server pooling and configruation)
  • Configuring server rules to allow (and disallow) access for common uses (Exchange Outlook Web Access reverse proxy, secured FTP, security VPN, remote SharePoint access, etc)
