* new SMB2 protocol that enhances server to server and client to server communications 30-40 times faster than in the past
* built-in imaging tools in both Windows 2008 (Windows Deployment Services (WDS)) and Vista (ImageX) that make deploying images extremely fast and easy
* new Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) that provides better and easier administration of servers from client systems

Rand also shared tips, tricks, best practices, and lessons learned from hundreds of organizations that have already deployed Windows Server 2008 as well as Windows Vista SP1, what benefits there are in the technologies, and how they leveraged the technologies to solve critical business needs.
