Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista SP1: Getting the Most out of the Latest in Server and Client Technologies
 

 

In this free workshop, Rand Morimoto, author of the global bestselling books “Windows 2008 Unleashed” and “Windows Vista Administration and Management” will share best practices how organizations are leveraging these technologies to address business challenges.  Rand will cover Windows 2008 and Vista integration relative to:

 

·         the over 500 new group policies focused to better support and manage Vista and XP clients

·         new server and client encryption to address security and information privacy (both BitLocker and Rights Mgmt Services)

·         enhancements to Terminal Services for greatly improved thin client remote access

·         new SMB2 protocol that enhances server to server and client to server communications 30-40 times faster than in the past

·         built-in imaging tools in both Windows 2008 (Windows Deployment Services (WDS)) and Vista (ImageX) that make deploying images extremely fast and easy

·         new Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) that provides better and easier administration of servers from client systems
