Online Seminar - Microsoft SharePoint, Project Server, and Live Communications Server: Leveraging Advanced Office Applications for Collaboration, Integrated Project Management, and Real Time Communications
 

 

This seminar, led by Rand Morimoto, an industry expert and author of several best selling books on Microsoft technologies, share how organizations leverage these various Microsoft Office server products, tools, and add-ins that help employees address many different day to day business tasks.

 

Rand covers in this seminar:

  • Collaboration: how Microsoft SharePoint Services (which comes free with Windows 2003) and SharePoint Portal Server (an add-on server product you purchase separately) can be used to improve the sharing of documents and improve the communications between members of a team within an organization as well as those members outside of an organization

  • Project Management: how Microsoft Project Server can integrate project plans into Microsoft Outlook tasks and calendars, as well as schedule more than just projects, but also serve as a resource management tool

  • Instant Messaging Communications: how Microsoft Live Communications Server hosts the instant messaging communications for an organization whether it is internal to an organization, or if the organization needs to communicate using instant messaging outside of the organization

  • Intranet: how SharePoint is being used as an Intranet engine to provide organizations a centralized portal to store policy documents, procedure guides, allow for discussion boards, and host multi-media content to enable better communications throughout the enterprise

  • Anywhere Access: how organizations are leveraging the collaborative technologies built-in to Windows and SharePoint to provide users access to information from various office sites, from home offices, or while traveling.  Rand also provides a sneak preview into the upcoming suite of Microsoft Office products due out later this year or early next year codenamed “Office 12”, now formally named the Office 2007 suite of products.
